Before becoming a full-time investor, Mike was involved as a founder and operating executive at back-to-back startup IPOs, including Tivoli Systems and Motive. Some of Mike’s investments include Twitter, Twitch.tv, ngmoco, Weebly, Chegg, Bazaarvoice, Spiceworks, Okta, and Demandforce. Mike is known for coining the term “Thunder Lizards,” which is a metaphor derived from Godzilla that describes the tiny number of truly exceptional companies that are wildly disruptive capitalist mutations. Mike likes to think of himself as a hunter of the “atomic eggs” that beget these companies. Mike has been on the Forbes Midas List since 2010 and was also named one of “8 Rising Stars” by FORTUNE Magazine.

Before joining Kaszek Ventures, Nico worked for 13 years at MercadoLibre, where he was VP of Advertising, VP of Marketing, Marketing Manager, and covered several roles in the company’s technology and product areas. While he was VP of Marketing, MercadoLibre was recognized as one of the ”World’s 30 Hottest Brands” by Ad Age magazine, and as one of “27 Brands of Tomorrow” by Credit Suisse. Berman has also been a very active advisor and angel investor in the Latin American startup scene. Prior to this, Berman was a Commercial Manager at LG Electronics, where he received the “LG Global Hit Idea” award for his innovative thinking. He currently sits on the board of several technology companies across Latin America.
Jeff has been an entrepreneur and investor since 2002, and has led multiple startups, including two 7-Eleven stores, a luxury furniture store and interior design firm, a golf destination club, and a private country club golf network! He was also an angel investor himself with the Vegas Valley Angels. Jeff leads Kauffman in delivering a world-class experience for each Fellow, providing leading-edge content around capital formation, and creating networking opportunities to help Fellows maximize their personal and professional development.
Founder & CEO
As the founder and CEO of Lakestar, Klaus has been involved in investments such as Skype, Facebook and Spotify. Klaus invests in European as well as U.S. companies that show fast international growth. He invested in early 2011 in Airbnb, as well as German ecommerce site Casacanda, which Fab.com acquired in 2012. His other recent investments include online shaving startup Harry's and bond data startup Algomi. Before Lakestar, Hommels was involved in the establishment of Freenet and was a venture partner of Benchmark Capital Europe.
Prior to becoming CEO in October 2016, Nicolas oversaw BlaBlaCar’s global operations and international growth. As COO, he led the company’s corporate development, overseeing eight acquisitions, expansion to twenty markets, and three successive rounds of fundraising. Prior to joining BlaBlaCar in 2011, Nicolas worked for several startups in Silicon Valley during the dotcom boom, before moving on to executive and investor roles, including spending time as a Venture Capitalist at Amadeus Capital Partners in London. Nicolas is also an active angel investor.
